Swimmers end with a splash

The swimmers have come to the end of a great regular season. This past weekend the boys and girls teams competed at the sectional meet at Trotwood Madison High School.

The Jacks won eight out of eleven events and easily got by runner up Carroll with a score of 569 to 418. The Jills out swam runner-up Alter with a score of 512 to 299.

Before the team competed at sectionals they won in the SWBL tournament at University of Dayton’s swimming complex on Feb. 3rd.

“We did not have much competition in SWBL this year, normally our only competition is Bellbrook,” Coach Jennifer Jervis said.

The Jills dominated by winning their 11th consecutive SWBL championship. They beat Bellbrook who placed second with a score of 267-125, with every swimmer contributing points for the team.

“The girls team did very well, winning and placing in many races at sectionals this year,” Phoebe Gilbert (9) said.

The Jacks also rolled over the competition. beating Bellbrook who placed second, 214-120, winning their 8th consecutive SWBL championship.

Four senior and junior state and district qualifiers were unable to attend the SWBL meet because of other academic obligations or injury.

This coming weekend 11 of the Jacks swimmers and 15 of the Jills swimmers will compete in the district meet at Miami University.
