Team drops to 0-2 following loss against Vikings

The Jacks were in the game all the way until the 4th quarter. The Vikings hit their free-throws down the stretch and the Jacks couldn't hold on.

Close Call: The Jacks were in the game all the way until the 4th quarter. The Vikings hit their free-throws down the stretch and the Jacks couldn’t hold on.

Students packet the “pit” for the Jacks’ first home game against the Miami East Vikings. The Jacks’ starting five was Sam B. (9), Grant P. (11), Patrick I. (11), Joey M. (12), and Bradley C. (11).
The Jacks started out strong with a 16-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. Center Patrick I. contributed with multiple buckets in the first quarter in which some were assisted from guard Bradley C.. To end the quarter Grant P. drained a 3-point basket to keep the team’s lead.
“We did a good job on the defensive glass, but we couldn’t find a way to put the ball in the basket,” Grant P. said.
The Vikings outscored the Jacks in the second quarter and had a 10-point lead at the end of the half.
“Towards the end of the first half they started to get hot and they were scoring and we weren’t,” Grant P. said.
The second half went back and forth until the Vikings pulled away in the fourth quarter. The Jacks were able to keep themselves in the game, but late 3-pointers by Vikings players put the Jacks away. The final score was 64-42.
